For the first time, members of the will participate in a four-day ‘India immersion’ online course starting Tuesday, organized by the Ministry of External Affairs in collaboration with IIM Kozhikode.

Titled ‘Immersing with Indian Thoughts, an India Immersion Program’, the course is designed by the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation, a division of the MEA that implements capacity-building projects in partner countries.

Participants will engage in video lectures, discussions with IIMK trainers, and receive digital certificates and reference materials upon completion.

An online closing ceremony will feature an MEA official as the chief guest, with 25 participants already registered for the course.

The Institute of Diplomacy in Kabul was invited to nominate eligible candidates for the course by the Indian Embassy, emphasizing proficiency in English.

ITEC offers courses globally, with no specific focus on Afghanistan, despite ongoing requests for training programs from the Taliban regime.

India has reopened its embassy in Kabul but has yet to issue visas to Afghan students stranded after the Taliban takeover in 2021.

The course at IIM Kozhikode marks the first time Afghan officials will receive training from an Indian institute, amidst ongoing challenges for Afghan students seeking to return to their studies.
