The NIA has filed a chargesheet against 11 individuals, including a BSF officer, in connection with the pilferage of weapons from CAPF armoury for supply to CPI (Maoist) cadres.

The officer, identified as Kartik Behera, was dismissed from service after being implicated in the case. The charges relate to the theft of arms and ammunition and their supply to armed cadres of CPI(Maoist) and the terrorist gang of Aman Sahu. The accused persons allegedly conspired to use these weapons in terrorist attacks on security forces and for extortion. The case was originally registered at PS ATS, Ranchi, Jharkhand, according to a statement from the NIA.

The agency’s investigation found that ammunition of various calibers were stolen from a BSF magazine by accused Kartik Behera and allegedly supplied to his close associate, Arun Kumar Singh. This ammunition was then provided to “armed cadres of CPI(M) and the terrorist gang of Aman Sahu in association with some of the other chargesheeted accused,” the NIA said. The other individuals charged are Avinash Kumar, Rishi Kumar, Pankaj Kumar Singh, Kamendra Singh, Arun Kumar Singh, Hirla Guman Singh Ucchware, Shivlal Dhawal Singh Chauhan, Kumar Gurlal Uchchware, Aman Sahu, and Sanjay Kumar.
