Addressing a rally in Raipur on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Congress party for involvement in a liquor scam, accusing them of using corrupt money to fund the party. With Assembly elections approaching in less than six months, PM Modi visited Raipur to inaugurate projects worth around Rs 7,500 crore in the state. He highlighted the Congress party’s failure to fulfill their promise of banning liquor and instead engaging in corruption, without naming any specific Congress leaders. PM Modi also mentioned the power struggle between Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Deputy Chief Minister T S Singh Deo, attributing it to disputes over the proceeds from the liquor scam. He criticized the Congress for their alleged involvement in various scams such as the coal levy scam, sand mafia, and land mafia in Chhattisgarh, as well as their slow progress in building houses for the poor. The PM emphasized his commitment to fighting corruption and supporting farmers, contrasting the BJP’s efforts with those of the Congress in terms of development, health, infrastructure, and tribal welfare. Before starting his speech, PM Modi offered condolences for the victims of a recent road accident on their way to the rally in Raipur.
