India reported 2,876 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases to 4,29,98,938, with active cases dropping to 32,811, according to the latest data from the Union health ministry on Wednesday.
The death toll rose to 5,16,072 with 98 new fatalities as of 8 am.
Active cases now make up 0.08% of total infections, while the national recovery rate has improved to 98.72%, the ministry stated.
In the past 24 hours, there has been a decrease of 1,106 active Covid-19 cases.
The number of recovered individuals has reached 4,24,50,055, with a case fatality rate of 1.20%, according to the ministry.
Over 180.60 crore doses have been administered under the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive.
The daily positivity rate is 0.38% and the weekly positivity rate is 0.44%, as reported by the ministry.
A total of 78.05 crore tests have been conducted, with 7,52,818 tests done in the last 24 hours.
Of the 98 new fatalities, 72 were from Kerala.
To date, there have been 5,16,072 deaths in the country, including 1,43,757 in Maharashtra, 66,958 in Kerala, 40,024 in Karnataka, 38,024 in Tamil Nadu, 26,143 in Delhi, 23,492 in Uttar Pradesh, and 21,189 in West Bengal.
