The India Meteorological Department (IMD) announced that its official Twitter account was hacked on Saturday. Fortunately, the account was quickly restored, as confirmed by IMD in a tweet. The department issued a statement that the hack occurred about an hour prior, advising followers to ignore any tweets until the account was fully restored.

The hackers posted a tweet targeting NFT traders, offering an airdrop for the Beanz Official Collection for the next 2 hours. The profile picture was removed, and multiple tweets were sent out tagging various handles, despite the account having 246.6k followers.

Although previous tweets from the account were no longer visible on Saturday night, images shared by IMD, such as a list of maximum temperatures at different weather stations on Friday, remained accessible.
